Bognor Regis Pier

Been making the best of the weather, unfortunately I have been unable to take full advantage of the snow and sunshine! I have however been working on a project that will only see the light of day once it is completed.

So to make it up to you here is an image I took of Bognor Regis Pier.

The Worlds Largest Photo

Posted in Other Photographers on December 30th, 2009 by Jonathan

Just discovered the worlds largest photo that has been stitched together using 1,665 full frame still images taken on a Canon EOS 5D MKII! The Image was created by using a robot head and took 172 minutes to take all of the images then a further 94 hours of computer work to stitch the images together.
The image can be viewed on their website here.

Don’t get me wrong it could also be the worlds most boring but as for size this is huge! 297.500 x 87.500 pixel with a printing size of 105 x 35 meters.

Enjoy

Southwold Pier

Posted in Landscape photography on October 12th, 2009 by Jonathan

Went to Ordford Ness last weekend for a special “photography” day at the AWRE site that is now run by the National Trust, I’m in the process of editing these images and will shortly be posting them.

On the Sunday I had a semi early start to catch the light on Southwold pier, unfortunately I got there a little to late.

This is a test shot from the mornings shoot, as you might well notice it is a little on the over exposed side (left hand of the image) but to be honest I quite like it like that.

Seven Sisters

Having fixed the problem of my sensor looking like I had dragged a razor blade over it I decided to take a trip to the Seven Sisters Country Park with a view for some future work. Wayne joined me as usual.

Unfortunately you will be unable to see some of the images that I took during the day but here is an image I took from the cliff top next to the Belle Tout Lighthouse.

London Architecture

Posted in Architecture, Travel Photography on September 3rd, 2009 by Jonathan

I have managed to finally get around to editing 2 images from my recent trip to London with Wayne

The first image was taken at a complex called “More London” which is located not far from Tower Bridge and London bridge, easy access on the Jubilee Line from London Bridge Station. Depending upon the type of image your after will depend upon what time of day and which day to shoot, I find Sunday mornings best as they tend to be quiet.

The second image was taken around Moorgate, I remember seeing this building being built and whilst I was still living in London it was only around the corner from the Stock Exchange Rifle Club (which I use to be a member of) The building is on close proximity to the Barbican Centre and flats (worth a visit) Nearest Tube is Moorgate on the Northern Line or Liverpool Street Station is only a 5 min walk (if that)

Hope you enjoy, comments and feedback always welcome.

Canon EOS 7D

Posted in Uncategorized on September 1st, 2009 by Jonathan

Canon have announced a new EOS 7D, it looks like a stop gap between the 50D and 5D MKII. It’s getting to the point where it’s becoming silly with new models coming out all the time, technology moving on a such a stupid rate of knots!

It won’t belong now before the new EOS 1D & 1Ds MKIV will be out and then the 60D, 5D MKII!

Looks like Canon have chucked in a few improvement goodies that ww might start to see apprearing on the higher end models. Recently Canon have been asking for feedback on the 5D MKII and some of the pointers I made were better focusing, better metering, bracketing for HDR so more than 3 exposures can be taken, remove the Movie mode.

The new EOS 7D can be viewed here.

Enjoy it!
