Yesterday I headed off to Dungeness with Pete & Simon from the Bognor Regus Camera Club.
An early start, and having arrived unfashionable late Pete drove the old coastal route and we managed to arrived in good time.
We took in the sites and sounds of Dungeness Beach area, mainly photographing the light house and all the junk the fisherman have left behind or some would say still using.

Two Cups Of Coffee, Dungeness Project.

With time running out to meet our 2pm appointment we headed back to car and a spot of lunch in the Britannia Inn, whilst enjoying lunch the rain started again but this time it was serious cats & dogs weather! Not to be put off we headed to out rendezvous point and debated for some time if we should take part in the walk to the Sound Mirrors or not, fortunately for us the rain eased off and off we went.

Now for those who don’t know the sounds mirrors date back to WWI are were used to detect enemy planes of the shores of England, they kind of worked but helped pave the way for Radar detection.

The only way to gain access legally is to join the free walk or take a rowing boat across the water and take your chances with the armed guards, hungry dogs and the razor wire fences (just kidding) but please if you have to go there take the walk, contact www.rmcp.co.uk for information on the guided walks (donations after the walk would be gratefully received to help fund all of there projects and the hard work they do keeping the area in the shape it is in.

Hayling Island and the forgotten bunkers

Posted in Old Live Journal, Uncategorized on August 8th, 2007 by Jonathan

Hello,
well I managed to sneak out with my camera and headed to Hayling Island on a tip of from my old friend Wayne.
The new Infrared filter came out and went back in again, I’m going to have to do some research into the filter as the stop difference seems to be different every time I use it! Never mind, I got by with the trusted PL-C filter instead.

Racton and the Monument (in ruins)

Posted in Old Live Journal, Uncategorized on August 4th, 2007 by Jonathan

Hi all as it was a nice sunny day I decided to head out with the camera (but not a perfect day as no interesting sky)

I ended up at the old Racton Monument, a place I haven’t been to for some years and was shocked to discover that someone has made an attempt at putting up a fence and gate to keep the late night party goers out, sadly it hasn’t worked and the place is in even more disrepair than I imagined.

During last week I managed to buy a new Infrared filter for the digital camera, today has been the first time of trying out and the results have been great mind you it’s not the kind of filter you can use for every shot and the fact that you can’t see through it takes for some careful planning, setting up and some minor hit & miss calculations!

Any way you can check out today’s images in the “WORK IN PROGRESS” Gallery on my website:

Hi all,

I have noticed a different kind of viewer on myspace, in the last week or so I have many a request to join my “Myspace” by certain young(ish) American ladies, who look like they enjoy slipping off the old clothes. You will be pleased to know that I have declined there requested and have now blocked such viewer.

Hope you are enjoying the website, you may or may not have noticed this is going to be my main source of photographic outlet, LJ is going to be kind of day to day blog and travel blog.

I will still post photographs here for you to all enjoy, but not as many.

It is difficult to let you know when I have updated the website, but keep checking back, I put a note on LJ if I have.

Take Care
